Border Experience Mission Trip and ways to help
August 10-14, 2019
Join us on a journey of presence ministry in McAllen, Texas. While in McAllen, we will serve with Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. We serve meals, make sandwiches, talk with legal asylum seekers and learn transformational stories.
Two ways to help people at the Texas/Mexico Border:
First way: Order supplies to be shipped directly to Humanitarian Respite Center with the Catholic Charities in Texas: CLICK HERE TO DONATE ITEMS. Your items will be shipped directly to their volunteers to be handed out at the Border.
Second Way: Join Maddie Chandler Myers as she leads our next Border Experience trip. Read details for trip below and then sign up to join our team by clicking on REGISTER FOR BORDER EXPERIENCE MISSION TRIP . If you can not make it this time, but would like to join us on a future trip, contact Nancy Holmes at email@example.com.

Thoughts from Rev. Nathan Arledge : We strive to live into the commandment found in Leviticus 19:34, “The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” As we live into being hospitable neighbors we not only fulfill this commandment but also what Christ says, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Come with us on this life changing experience.
