Lenten Calendar

  • Maundy Thursday service is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18. It will be livestreamed at The Chamber Singers will sing Son of God Mass. Email to reserve child care.
  • Good Friday service is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19. It will be livestreamed at The Chancel Choir will sing. Email to reserve child care.
  • Easter sunrise service is at 7:00 a.m. April 21 in Francis Chapel. The regular Sunday worship schedule for Easter follows: 8:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary, 8:45 a.m. Church In The Round in Jubilee Hall, and 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The 11:00 a.m. service will be livestreamed at There will be regular child care for the four later services. There will be no Sunday School for children and youth.
  • Easter offering will go to mission partners QC Family Tree in west Charlotte and Faith Ministry in Mexico. Checks can be made out to the church with Easter Offering in the memo line.
  • Lenten small groups: Entering The Passion Of Jesus Mondays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. March 4 to April 8; The Seven Experiment Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 5 to April 16; Six Things We Should Know About God Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. March 7 to April 11; Entering The Passion Of Jesus Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. March 7 to April 11; and Listen Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 7 to April 11.   • Middle School Lenten Bible Study Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 13, 20, 27 and April 3 and 10. The group will begin by attending the Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 p.m. March 6.   • Francis Chapel labyrinth will be open for the first time during Holy Week, from 2:00 p.m. Palm Sunday, April 14, to 2:00 p.m. Holy Saturday, April 20. Come anytime that week to walk and pray the labyrinth. During Holy Week, there will be a special invitation to pray the Stations of the Cross.
  • Outdoor Stations of the Cross is planned in the Hopewell parking lot across from the church during Holy Week. Encounter the last days of Jesus’ life while praying under tall oak trees.
  • Creative Prayer Room for children and families will be available through Lent. Rooms 257 and 258 in the Snyder Building will be transformed into a creative prayer room for children of all ages, open whenever the church is open.
  • Stephen Ministries’ annual Lenten devotional booklet will be available free of charge around the church starting around Ash Wednesday with essays from church members, clergy and staff.
