At Myers Park United Methodist Church, our most worthy goal in Faith Formation is to help you find ways to mature in your faith as you grow in knowledge through study. One means to achieve this is offered in our Sunday School classes. Most classes are offered at 9:45, we also have one 8:45 and one 10:45 class. Some are comprised of people with similar life experiences and ages (children, youth, young couples, singles, seniors, to name a few.) Other classes are designed around common interests in particular studies or topics. Our Sunday School classes, like all groups at our church are open to both members and friends in our community. Myers Park United Methodist Church is at the intersection of Providence Road and Queens Road in the Myers Park neighborhood. Three parking lots offer convenient access to the church. The first is directly behind the church on Queens Road. The second is across Queens Road at the intersection of Queens and Pembroke. The third is across Providence Road from the church in the Myers Park Shopping Center, and is available during non-business hours. Also, during worship services there is roadside parking available on both Providence Road and Queens Road and along residential side streets. For questions, call (704) 376-8584.
Shuttle service runs continuously on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. between the church and Myers Park Traditional School at 2132 Radcliffe Avenue. This popular option makes it easier getting to and from worship.
Nursery child care is provided for infants who are at least six weeks old and toddlers from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each Sunday. The mission is to provide a safe, loving environment for children while parents participate in Sunday School, worship and other church experiences. The nursery is staffed by paid workers who have been carefully screened and interviewed. No reservations or pre-registration is necessary.
Children must be signed in by a parent or guardian using the check-in kiosks available on each level. Place the nametag on your child’s back; the other part goes with the parent to be presented to the caregiver on the return to pick up the child. Parents are asked to bring all supplies needed for their child and label the outside of diaper bag, bottles and cups. You will be given a vibrating pager in exchange for your car keys or driver’s license. Please remain on the church campus while your child is in nursery care.
Please do not enter the nursery rooms or open the doors to the rooms. Our staff will accept children and belongings at the door or open the door to allow children to walk in.
