What does a proctor do? A proctor attends a one-time training on test security and the NC Testing Code of Ethics. During testing, a proctor will assist the test administrator (the teacher) in passing out pencils and scrap paper. The proctor also helps the teacher monitor students to ensure a fair testing environment by circulating the room periodically. During testing, the proctor cannot read or use electronic devices.
