Michael Waters Leads Forum on National Racial Divide

Join us on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm as Rev. Dr. Michael W. Waters, pastor, lecturer, award-winning author and activist, leads an open forum regarding our national racial divide entitled “Stakes Is High: Race, Faith, and Hope for America.”  Click here to sign up to attend.

Waters is founding pastor of Joy Tabernacle AME Church in Dallas, TX. He has appeared on ABC Nightline, CBS This Morning News, The NBC Nightly News, and other major networks and news programs. He is the author of Stakes is High: Race, Faith and Hope in America.  

Joining Dr. Waters for our Relationships Matter event will be Yulise Waters, as well as Revs. Dr. James Howell, Dr. Joe Clifford, Nathan Arledge and Ray McKinnon.  This talk is being presented in partnership with Myers Park Presbyterian Church and South Tryon Community United Methodist Church.

The program will be held at MPUMC in Jubilee Hall. Plan to come at 6:30pm for refreshments and conversation leading up to our 7pm program.

In addition, in Francis Chapel on January 21 at 6pm or January 22 at 11am, Dr. James Howell and Rev. Nathan Arledge will lead a book discussion of Waters’ book Stakes Is High. Learn more details on attending this discussion by clicking on book discussion.
