Disciple Bible Study
This fall, in addition to a few advanced studies, we are excited to offer Disciple Fast Track, an adaptation on the original Disciple 1 and a viable option for busy people seeking a thorough introduction to bible study. Fast Track groups will be offered at various times on Wednesday, along with a group offered on Sunday mornings. Groups will meet for 24 weeks, spending equal time on both Old and New Testaments. Participants will read a manageable 3-5 Bible chapters daily in preparation for weekly meetings of 75 minutes. These meetings will include a video segment and discussion led by trained and experienced lay facilitators. As with most events and groups in our church, Disciple Fast Track is open to anyone regardless of their church affiliation. Thus, you will be a part of a small group of 12-15, some of whom may not be members of this church and may come from entirely different denominational backgrounds, providing a rich backdrop for an already diverse class.
Disciple is a global, nondenominational program that has impacted the lives of over 2 million people over the past 29 years. It is a foundational building block at the heart of our own church where more than 800 people have completed the prerequisite, 34-week Disciple 1 – Becoming Disciples through Bible Study. Many have gone on to take some or all of the advanced classes as well.
If this sounds interesting to you, and we hope it does, online registration opens on August 1. To help you decide, please plan to come to Disciple Fast Track: Face 2 Face on August 24 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in room 106. You will experience a condensed sample weekly meeting, have a chance to ask questions and be registered for a class to begin the week of September 6. Books will also be for sale this evening at Goodness Gracious.
Please reach out to our Minister of Adult Education, Rev. Barbara Barden, if you have any questions. You may call 704-295-4813 or email Barbara.
